Macro Helper

Visual Studio has some in-built capability to record and execute macros. The area where it falls short is in tracking key presses and mouse movements. That is where this comes in handy.

Use the AutoScriptWriter to record macros, and the AutoHotKey tool to execute the scripts.

Find unread emails in your Gmail mailbox

Tired of paging thru your Gmails just to look for the ones that are unread. Want an easier way to find those emails? How about applying a filter that will give you just the unread emails? It's possible, and here's how.

Simply search for either of these:
label:unread
is:unread
l:unread
l:^u

RBI Guidelines on Cheque Validity

Saw this info on the ICICI website today
Validity of all cheques, DDs, etc. would be reduced from 6 months to 3 months, as per Reserve Bank of India guidelines. I wonder what the validity of checks is in the US.

Let me Google that for you

Good site to use when you want to respond to those who don't consider Googling for anything before asking you for pointers. To be sent to those who understand sarcasm.

For example, if someone asks you "what is silverlight?", you could send them this link
They will then see a video of how to do a search on Google for this term, and will then take them to the search results.

Etymology of etymology

The word "etymology" derives from Greek etumologíā; from étumon, meaning "true sense", and logía, meaning "study"; from lógos, meaning "speech, account, reason".

I generally like Metadata. :)

Nordic

Norse or Nordic countries - the northwestern European countries of Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden), as well as Iceland and Finland; or a native of one of the Nordic countries

West Side Story

American musical, inspired by Romeo & Juliet.

Intro

Finally, the day has come when I post something on this blog-site of mine.

I plan to use this to publish any learning - be it technical or otherwise, and would typically contain just some links or perhaps little textual info.

I have other verbose technical and non-technical blog-sites already in place.
